Recently I decided to put my writing and editing skills to work as a freelance writer, content creator, and editor for hire. For information on how I can help you including my reasonable rates, contact me.
I spent 13 years working for state and federal government in emergency services and natural resource management. During that time I developed my skills as a technical writer and editor working with policies, plans, manuals, and guides. For several years I was the lead on coordinating the yearly updating, editing, and publishing of a 500+ page nationally-distributed mobilization guide. During my last year in public service, I managed and updated over 500 continuity of operations plans for the state public health department.
I left public service after the birth of my son so I could spend more time home with him. For the last two years, I’ve run an online clothing boutique. This experience has given me invaluable experience in social media marketing, blogging and content creation, search engine optimization, marketing, branding, and customer service.
My work experience combined with my 2011 Bachelors of Science from the University of Montana and my strong desire to build a career freelance writing and editing makes me a great fit for your needs. My writing niches are wide-ranging and include parenting, the outdoors, natural sciences, direct sales, fashion, and emergency preparedness, but I enjoy learning new things and writing about them.
During my 13 years working for state and federal interagency government, I served on over a dozen federal hiring panels for positions ranging from GS-05 to GS-12. I know what federal hiring panels are looking for in a resume and how the system works. If your federal resume needs to be updated or you’re looking to transition from private industry to civil service, I can help you get your resume noticed and through initial screenings. You can hire me by contacting me here or through my Fiverr gig.
